Don Black's Stormfront Turns 20
Today聽marks the 20-year anniversary of the white supremacist web site, Stormfront. Since its creation in 1995, Stormfront has been creating and dispersing all forms of hate to its racialist and often violent audience of nearly 300,000 registered members.
鈥淔or 20 years now, Stormfront has been pushing hate propaganda around the world,鈥� said Heidi Beirich, director of the Intelligence Project. 鈥淭he problem isn鈥檛 just the racist material Don Black and company have been publicizing, it鈥檚 the body count, too. Nearly 100 people have been killed by Stormfront users in the last few years. Stormfront isn鈥檛 only vile, it鈥檚 dangerous.鈥�
To mark the occasion, the Southern Poverty Law Center鈥檚 Hatewatch blog will be running a series of stories about the hate site, its activities, its principals and its funders.
The first story published yesterday is聽, which the site鈥檚 founder Stephen 鈥淒on鈥� Black launched about a year ago on the Rense Radio Network. Heard by hundreds of thousands of homes across North American and Europe, Stormfront radio is now one of the largest purveyors of hate propaganda in the world.
