鈥淭he 74-year-old retired Army green beret and self-described anti-Semite turned his back to the jurors as they re-entered the courtroom [and] he did not look at them as the unanimous verdict was announced,鈥 the听听reports.
It took the jury only 90 minutes to opt for the death penalty instead of life in prison for Miller, who also is known as Frazier Glenn Cross.听
The jury鈥檚 decision on Miller鈥檚 fate came one week after the same panel found him听guilty听of capital murder in the April 13, 2014, deaths of William Corporon, 69, his grandson, Reat Underwood, 14, and Terri LaManno, 53, in Overland Park, Kan.
During closing arguments Tuesday, Miller, who acted as his own attorney, rambled on about his anti-Jewish beliefs and how he acted to save the white race. 听
He dared jurors to sentence him to death, calling them 鈥渨----- of the Jews,鈥 and said he wanted no mercy, the Kansas City newspaper reported.
The wheelchair-bound defendant, suffering from lung disease, finished his presentation with a Nazi salute and a 鈥淗eil Hitler.鈥
