After a decade in prison, white supremacist Jacob Laskey is back in custody
A white supremacist from Oregon, who spent a decade in prison for a hate crime, is back in custody, this time聽accused of stabbing an acquaintance at a party.
Jacob Albert Laskey, 37, is scheduled to appear in a Lane County, Oregon, court on Monday, January 29, for a preliminary hearing.
Laskey is charged with second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, menacing and criminal trespass. He鈥檚 also being held in the county jail for the U.S. Marshal鈥檚 Service.
Laskey has long been involved in white supremacist circles, having done a 10-year stretch in federal prison after he and several other members of Volksfront, a now-defunct neo-Nazi group, threw swastika-etched bricks through Eugene's Temple Beth Israel Synagogue in 2002.
Laskey walked out of federal prison in January 2016, but has remained on supervised release that governs who he can associate with, where he can go and how much involvement he can have with specific groups. Although his conditions of release were to not associate with fellow white supremacists, he defied those provisions聽seemingly without consequences
The latest arrest came on January 19, when Lane County Sheriff鈥檚 deputies were called to investigate a knife attack that wounded 41-year-old Devin Reid Wolfe.
The Lane County Sheriff's Office said the encounter occurred at a Creswell RV park Friday night and the two men knew each other.聽
Since getting out of prison, Laskey hasn鈥檛 gone into hiding. Instead, he鈥檚 seen several books he wrote in prison made available on Amazon and taken on a very public role on YouTube as a video blogger.
In the videos, Laskey has gone on screeds against antifascist activists, or antifa, expressed doubts about the Earth being round and floated the idea that the International Space Station is a Hollywood movie set.
In one video, Laskey, wearing a hat with the word 鈥淚nfidel鈥 and sunglasses, goes on an obscenity-laced tirade and challenges antifa activists to go to his home in Creswell, Oregon.
Laskey challenges an antifa activist to 鈥渂ring a gun, shoot me 鈥 Show antifa that you鈥檒l be a f-----鈥 martyr.鈥
He ends the video with 鈥淲ill you be a victim or survivor 鈥 I think we know the answer to that, b----.鈥
