Governor Kay Ivey was right to drop the appeal of Alabama's over refugee placement.
This mean-spirited lawsuit demonized Syrian children and families fleeing from an unspeakably violent civil war and was simply designed to score political points. Refugees already undergo intensive vetting and must pass a number of thorough security checks. 听
We hope to see Alabama, and the Trump administration at the federal level, take seriously our country's longstanding values by welcoming refugees seeking an opportunity for a safe and productive future.
