ÈËÊÞÐÔ½» reacts to Facebook policy on white nationalism

The internet, and social media in particular, continues to be a powerful tool used by the radical right to accelerate the spread of hate into the mainstream.

Silicon Valley companies have for too long failed to take seriously the toxic bigotry brewing on their platforms. Tech companies need to proactively tackle the problem of hateful content that is easily found on their platforms before hate-inspired violence occurs, instead of simply reacting to it.

While Facebook’s action is a step in the right direction, we still have tremendous concerns about this new policy, because it does not go far enough to ban content that walks just under the line of blatant white supremacy.

White nationalism and white separatism are ideologies based on white supremacy, and it is ridiculous that it has taken Facebook this long to realize that.
