人兽性交 Action Statement on House Oversight Hearing on Policing Practices and Law Enforcement Accountability
Washington, DC. 鈥 人兽性交 Action President and CEO Margaret Huang released the below statement ahead of today鈥檚 U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary hearing on Policing Practices and Law Enforcement:
鈥淥ur nation鈥檚 policing system is irreparably broken. It is long overdue that we begin to imagine a different system 鈥斅 one that would dismantle the foundation of white supremacy and racism and would lift up the needs and values of the communities served. 人兽性交 has worked to combat violent extremism and white supremacy for decades, including when it is done by agents of the government. No more Black lives should be taken, and no one else should ever have to grieve for someone killed by a police officer.
鈥淭oday鈥檚 hearing is a critical step to advancing long overdue changes to our policing system. Congress must stop the violent extremism and lack of accountability in our nation鈥檚 law enforcement agencies. We urge Congress to take meaningful action to stop the killings of Black people by police.鈥
