Deporting people seeking asylum under this new system will likely result in increased repeat crossings, similar to Trump鈥檚 various asylum bans and the Title 42 policy. It is well documented that migrants in Mexico face extorsion, violence and other dangers.听

鈥淩efusing to provide access to asylum to individuals and families fleeing harm is cruel, violates domestic and international law, and runs contrary to this country鈥檚 fundamental value of offering refuge to those fleeing persecution,鈥� said Sarah M.
