Last week, YouTube removed the primary channel for Red Ice, one of the most prominent video news outlets for white nationalists. Red Ice then activated its second channel, which was set up a few years ago as a backup for when the main channel became unavailable due to terms-of-service violations.

Henrik Palmgren, who founded Red Ice in 2003, appeared on the Ralph Retort鈥檚聽鈥�#Killstream,鈥� hosted by Ethan Ralph,聽and explicitly acknowledged using the backup channel as a means of getting around YouTube鈥檚 ban. The far-right podcast has hosted a number of white nationalists. Palmgren told Ralph, 鈥淲e鈥檙e just going to keep uploading there, at least until we can鈥檛.鈥�

Now it appears Red Ice can鈥檛.

The white nationalist media organization acknowledged on Twitter that YouTube removed its backup channel Tuesday after the Southern Poverty Law Center reported聽Red Ice had circumvented the initial ban.

鈥溔耸扌越� did this,鈥� Red Ice tweeted. The group also blamed 鈥淐ommunists & anti-Whites鈥� for its troubles. 鈥淭hey will do anything to silence those they don鈥檛 agree with. It鈥檚 submission forms on websites today, re-education camps tomorrow,鈥� Red Ice wrote.

Red Ice鈥檚 removal from the 聽will sting the hate site and the larger movement it serves. Red Ice, on its main channel, lost countless videos promoting racist views and some 335,000 reported subscribers, while the hate movement lost the main platform supportive of its views. Additionally, the site鈥檚 backup channel quickly amassed more than 20,000 subscribers, but now YouTube has removed that content avenue.

Red Ice remained active Wednesday on Twitter and Facebook and on lesser platforms such as BitChute.

Palmgren鈥檚 wife and Red Ice co-host, Lana Lokteff, criticized YouTube鈥檚 move last week after it deleted the main channel, calling her site鈥檚 removal 鈥渁 full-on, cover-up job.鈥�

鈥淥bviously they鈥檙e threatened. Otherwise they wouldn鈥檛 do it. Obviously it鈥檚 effective,鈥� she said. 鈥淥bviously we were reaching people. Obviously we were growing rapidly before they did all their tricks on the back end.鈥�

Lokteff has also been instrumental in Red Ice鈥檚 pivot to a full-throated defense of white supremacy. In a video titled 鈥淭hey Want You Dead White Man!鈥� Lokteff informs the viewer, 鈥淵ou know who 鈥榯hey鈥� is.鈥� (White nationalists and other antisemites often use 鈥渢hey鈥� in a leading sense to imply a global Jewish conspiracy.)

Elsewhere, she has condemned mixed-race relationships as 鈥済enocide.鈥� She noted in 2018 with regard to 鈥渢he promotion of interracial relationships, mixed race babies [and] open borders鈥�: 鈥淲hen you get down to it, this dirty propaganda is trying to destroy, in whole or in part, a group of people and trying to prevent births within that group. Well, that, folks, constitutes 鈥� genocide.鈥�
